This is a natural, homemade alternative to mouthwash without the cocktail of soaps and chemicals you find in most commercial products.
Dissolve the bicarbonate in the water then add the oils. Mix well then store in a bottle.
Shake before use. Then use one to two tablespoons twice a day after brushing and/or flossing. A 20ml medicine cup makes the perfect measure.
The baking soda has quite a soapy flavour and takes some getting used (which is probably true of all mouthwashes) so you may need to persist for a couple of weeks.
Note: A diet high in sugars, fruit juice and starches (grains, potatoes etc...) promotesdir the bacteria that cause bad breath. In that case a stronger commercial mouthwash may be unavoidable. Be aware that consumption of dietary fats, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids, as well a diet low in sugars/starches can benefit oral health. See your dentist or doctor if you have problems with bad breath, bleeding gums or tooth ache and even ear ache.
